Still, there is a situation in which you can sell your rights to a partial amount of your future monthly payments.

If you’re receiving $500.00 a month from your structured settlement, you can sell the rights to any portion of that monthly payment you want, and for as many payments as you want. Sell half your rights for 12 months. You receive a lump sum of $3,000.00 to pay off debt or make a purchase of some sort, and you still receive a monthly payment of $250.00 for the next 12 months. When the 12 months are up your monthly payment returns to the original $500.00.

Can’t find a number anywhere on their website? If not, that should be a red flag.

Any legitimate structured settlement company that wants to build its clientele base will do whatever it can to prove itself reputable and honest, especially if they’re doing business on the Internet. Knowing how many scam artists there are operating in cyberspace, a legitimate company should provide a phone number as an alternative means of making contact with you. At the very least they shouldn’t ask for personal information before making human contact with you.

There’s a great push going on these days to expose structured settlement companies that aren’t being completely honest with their clients. They claim their clients can get their cash in no time at all. At least that’s the way they make it sound. But, the clients are turning the pages on these companies.

They’re complaints have brought to light these false claims which will help protect other structured settlement holders from falling into their trap. The truth is, because the sale of a structured settlement needs court approval, there’s really nothing quick about it. Unfortunately, the courts run on their own schedule, not that of a structured settlement company’s. Don’t let these companies scare you away from selling your structured settlement. The number of honest settlement companies far outweighs the dishonest ones.

When you fall behind on child support payments it’s very possible you’ll face a number of different penalties. You may loose your license, have your financial accounts seized or you may even face some jail time. If you own a structured settlement you may be able to avoid all of these headaches.

When you sell part or all of your structured settlement you’ll receive a lump sum of cash. You can then use it to pay off that child support debt and keep your world status quo. Even just making a dent in a large arrearage debt could help you avoid all these penalties. It’s definitely something to consider.

Are you struggling to make ends meet? Doing all you can to keep your head above water with no real results? Is there a mountain of debt following you around like a monkey on your back? Your structured settlement may hold the key to your financial freedom.

Did you know you can sell your structured settlement? It’s true. And, you won’t have to pay any tax on the money you receive either. With a lump sum of cash you can keep those debt collectors at bay, and avoid further debt accumulating. You don’t even have to sell your entire settlement. You can sell just a part of it, and keep the rest of it intact so you’ll still receive future payments.

Your structured settlement may not be able to solve all your troubles, but it can certainly put a big dent in your financial ones.

There are those in the structured settlement world who are familiar with the terms, horizontal carve-out and vertical carve-out. The average structured settlement holder isn’t one of them. In fact, most people wouldn’t even associate such terms with their structured settlement. But, f you’ve received a structured settlement from a lottery winning, and you’re planning to sell part or all of it, you’ll soon find out what these two terms mean.

In the legal arena, a horizontal carve-out means that you’re only going to sell a portion of your structured settlement to a third party. A vertical carve-out means you’re going to sell the whole kit and caboodle. Where these two terms originated from, one can only speculate. In any event, these are the legal terms used in a court of law when you sell your structured settlement that resulted from a lottery winning.

Selling a structured settlement is handled much like any other binding sale in the world of commerce. The first thing is to find a respectable buyer. Check with the Better Business Bureau before entering into a contract with a buyer.

The terms of the sale must be reduced to writing or the sale will not be binding. You will be given a grace period in which you’ll have time to review the terms of the contract. If you choose, you may back out of the deal without incurring any penalties during this period. If you are satisfied with the terms, you must appear in court at which time a judge will review the terms of the sale. If she/he approves the sale they will issue a court order stating so.

Some states also require that the structured settlement buyer inform the seller, in writing, that their interests would be best served by seeking the advice of a legal consultant. Check to see if your state is one of them.

Don’t let anyone persuade you about what to do with your structured settlement or the money you receive from it. It’s ok to listen to good, sound advice, but don’t be intimidated into doing something you aren’t comfortable doing.

If you’re thinking about selling your structured settlement, but you’re still in the quote-getting stages don’t be bullied or intimidated by a buyer to hurry up and sign on the dotted line. Some buyers can make it sound as if you’ll miss out on the deal of the century if you don’t sign with them and sign fast. A reputable company that’s been in the structured settlement business for awhile won’t put the heat on in order to get you to sell to them. They know the value of allowing a customer plenty of time to weigh their options. This is the sort of company you should do business with.

Just because a structured settlement may be worth a lot of money overall that doesn’t mean you’re going to get rich or be able to live the life of Riley just because you are awarded one. Quite the opposite is often the case with structured settlement recipients.

In spite of the fact that a structured settlement award is substantial, the monthly payments probably won’t be. It’s for this reason that some people have turned to the lump sum option in order to acquire more of their money in a shorter period of time. Let’s face it; many of these recipients have wound up with large medical bills and costly legal ones. So if you are expecting a large structured settlement in the near future, don’t put all your eggs in one basket and prance around the chicken coop so soon. You may find that you’ll be much better off selling your structured settlement once you get it.

A structured settlement award is one way in which an aggrieved party is compensated for negligence or an injury they’ve suffered at the hands of another party. The settlement is intended to financially provide for the injured party. What it doesn’t do is keep up with economical change.

Inflation is not part of the equation when a structured settlement is awarded. Because of this, many settlement recipients turn to the lump sum option when they find it hard to stay financially afloat. A reputable structured settlement company can help a settlement owner through the lump sum option process.
